As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.“ Tell us,” they said,“ when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what[ shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

耶穌對他們說：「父憑着自己的權柄所定的時候和日期，不是你們可以知道的。

耶穌在橄欖山上，面向聖殿坐着；彼得、雅各、約翰和安得烈私下問他說：「請告訴我們，甚麼時候有這些事呢？這一切事將成的時候有甚麼預兆呢？」

耶穌和門徒快到耶路撒冷，進了橄欖山的伯法其時，打發兩個門徒，

如果這樣，他從創世以來就必須多次受苦了。但如今，他在今世的末期顯現，僅一次把自己獻為祭，好除掉罪。

其中一個對那在河水之上、穿細麻衣的說：「這奇異的事要到幾時才應驗呢？」我聽見那在河水之上、穿細麻衣的，向天舉起左右手，指着那活到永遠的起誓說：「要到一年、兩年，又半年，粉碎聖民力量結束的時候，這一切的事就要應驗。」我聽了卻不明白，就說：「我主啊，這些事的結局是怎樣呢？」

你們要知道，一家的主人若知道晚上甚麼時候有賊來，就必警醒，不讓賊挖穿房屋。

挪亞的日子怎樣，人子來臨也要怎樣。

撒雜草的仇敵就是魔鬼，收割的時候就是世代的終結，收割的人就是天使。正如把雜草拔出來用火焚燒，世代的終結也要如此。

「你們要從無花果樹學習功課：當樹枝發芽長葉的時候，你們就知道夏天近了。同樣，當你們看見這一切，就知道那時候近了，就在門口了。

好像閃電從東邊發出，直照到西邊，人子來臨也要這樣。

世代的終結也要這樣：天使要出來，把惡人從義人中分別出來，

弟兄們，關於那時候和日期，不用人寫信給你們，因為你們自己明明知道，主的日子來到會像賊在夜間突然來到一樣。人正說平安穩定的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同陣痛臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕逃脫不了。弟兄們，你們並不在黑暗裏，那日子不會像賊一樣臨到你們。你們都是光明之子，都是白晝之子；我們不屬黑夜，也不屬幽暗。所以，我們不要沉睡，像別人一樣，總要警醒謹慎。因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。但既然我們屬於白晝，就應當謹慎，把信和愛當作護心鏡遮胸，把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。因為上帝不是預定我們受懲罰，而是預定我們藉着我們的主耶穌基督得救。他替我們死，讓我們無論醒着、睡着，都與他同活。所以，你們該彼此勸勉，互相造就，正如你們素常做的。

凡我所吩咐你們的，都教導他們遵守。看哪，我天天與你們同在，直到世代的終結。」

彼得看見他，就問耶穌：「主啊，這個人怎樣呢？」耶穌對他說：「假如我要他等到我來的時候還在，跟你有甚麼關係呢？你跟從我吧！」

他們問他：「老師，甚麼時候有這些事呢？這些事將臨到的時候有甚麼預兆呢？」

門徒私下進前來問耶穌：「我們為甚麼不能趕出那鬼呢？」

不知不覺洪水來了，把他們全都沖去。人子來臨也要這樣。

當時，耶穌離開眾人，進了屋子。他的門徒進前來，說：「請把田間雜草的比喻講給我們聽。」

當時，門徒進前來對他說：「法利賽人聽見這話很反感，你知道嗎？」

門徒進前來問耶穌：「對眾人講話，為甚麼用比喻呢？」耶穌回答他們說：「因為天國的奧祕只讓你們知道，不讓他們知道。
