As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew were questioning Him privately,“ Tell us, when will these things come about, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”

When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus then sent two disciples,

Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

And someone said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream,“ How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish smashing the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.But as for me, I heard but did not understand; so I said,“ My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?”

But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.

and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels.So just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age.

“ Now learn the parable from the fig tree: as soon as its branch has become tender and sprouts its leaves, you know that summer is near;so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

So it will be at the end of the age: the angels will come forth and remove the wicked from among the righteous,

Now as to the periods and times, brothers and sisters, you have no need of anything to be written to you.For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night.While they are saying,“ Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief;for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night.But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.

teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

So Peter, upon seeing him,* said to Jesus,“ Lord, and what about this man?”Jesus* said to him,“ If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!”

They asked Him questions, saying,“ Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,“ Why could we not cast it out?”

and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said,“ Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”

Then the disciples came and* said to Him,“ Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?”

And the disciples came up and said to Him,“ Why do You speak to them in parables?”And Jesus answered them,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
