As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.“ Tell us,” they said,“ when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

耶穌對他們說：「父憑著自己的權柄所定的時候和日期，不是你們可以知道的。

耶穌在橄欖山上，面對聖殿坐著。彼得、雅各、約翰和安得烈悄悄地問他：「請告訴我們，這些事什麼時候會發生呢？這一切將要成就的時候，會有什麼預兆呢？」

當耶穌和門徒們臨近耶路撒冷，來到橄欖山附近的伯法其的時候，耶穌派了兩個門徒，

否則，從創世以來，他就必須再三地受難了。但如今，他在萬世的末期顯現了一次，好藉著獻上自己為祭，把罪除掉。

其中一位對那身穿細麻衣、在河水之上的人說：「這些奇妙之事的結局要到什麼時候呢？」我聽見那身穿細麻衣、在河水之上的人說話；他向天舉起左右手，指著永遠活著的那一位起誓說：「要經過一期、二期、半期，當聖潔子民的力量被打碎時，這一切事就會成就。」我聽見卻不領悟，就說：「我主啊，這些事的結局會是怎樣呢？」

不過你們應當知道這一點：一家的主人如果知道賊什麼時刻來，他就會警醒，不讓他的房子被人鑽進。

挪亞的那些日子怎樣，人子的來臨也將要怎樣。

撒稗子的仇敵是魔鬼，收割的季節是世代的終結，收割的人是天使。就像稗子被拔出來用火燒掉，在這世代的終結也將是這樣。

「你們要從無花果樹那裡學個比喻：當無花果樹的枝子發嫩長出葉子的時候，你們就知道夏天快到了。照樣，當你們看見這一切的時候，你們就知道人子快到了，就在門口了。

因為就像閃電從東邊發出，直照到西邊，人子的來臨也將要這樣。

在這世代的終結也將是這樣。天使們要出去，把惡人從義人中分別出來，

弟兄們，關於這些時候和日期，你們不需要我寫什麼給你們了。因為你們自己明確地知道，主的日子來臨，就像夜裡的賊來臨那樣。當人們正說「和平」、「安全」的時候，毀滅那時就突然臨到他們，就像孕婦的臨產陣痛那樣，他們絕不能逃脫。不過弟兄們，你們不是在黑暗裡，以致那日子像賊一樣抓住你們。因為你們都是光明的兒女，白晝的兒女。我們不屬於黑夜，也不屬於黑暗。由此可見，我們不要像其他人那樣睡著了，而要警醒、謹慎。因為睡覺的人是在夜裡睡，醉酒的人是在夜裡醉。但我們既然屬於白晝，就讓我們謹慎，以信與愛做為護胸甲穿上，以救恩的盼望做為頭盔戴上。因為神不是預定我們到震怒裡面，而是預定我們藉著我們的主耶穌基督獲得救恩。基督替我們死，為要使我們無論是醒著還是睡著，都與他一同活著。因此，你們要彼此鼓勵，互相造就，就像你們現在所做的那樣。

凡我所吩咐你們的，都教導他們遵守。看哪，我就天天都與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。」

彼得看見他，就問耶穌：「主啊，那麼，這個人會怎麼樣呢？」耶穌說：「就算我願意他一直留到我來的時候，這與你有什麼關係？你跟從我！」

他們就問耶穌，說：「老師，那麼，這些事什麼時候會發生呢？這些事將要發生的時候，會有什麼預兆呢？」

門徒們悄悄地前來問耶穌：「我們為什麼不能趕出那鬼魔呢？」

他們毫不察覺，直到洪水到來，把一切沖走。人子的來臨，也將是這樣。

然後，耶穌離開了人群，進了屋子。他的門徒們上前來，說：「請給我們解釋一下田裡稗子的比喻。」

那時，門徒們前來對他說：「法利賽人聽了這話很反感，你知道嗎？」

門徒們上前來，問耶穌：「你對他們講話，為什麼用比喻呢？」耶穌回答他們，說：「天國的奧祕已經賜下來讓你們知道，而沒有賜給那些人；
