As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.“ Tell us,” they said,“ when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what[ shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

耶穌說：“父憑著自己的權柄所定的時間或日期，你們不必知道。

耶穌在橄欖山上，面對聖殿坐著，彼得、雅各、約翰和安得烈私下問他：“請告訴我們，甚麼時候會有這些事呢？這一切事將要成就的時候有甚麼預兆呢？”

耶穌和門徒走近耶路撒冷，來到橄欖山的伯法其那裡。耶穌派了兩個門徒，

如果這樣，他從創世以來，就必須受許多次的苦了。可是現在他在這世代的終結，只顯現一次，把自己作為祭品獻上，好除掉罪。

有一個問那身穿細麻衣、站在河水以上的人，說：“這些奇異的事的結局幾時才到呢？”我聽見那身穿細麻衣、站在河水以上的人，向天舉起左右手，指著活到永遠的主起誓，說：“要經過一載、二載、半載（“一載、二載、半載”或譯：“一個時期、多個時期、半個時期”）；在他們完全粉碎聖民的勢力的時候，這一切事就都要完成。”我聽見，卻不明白，我就問：“我主啊，這些事的結局是怎樣呢？”

你們都知道，家主若曉得竊賊晚上甚麼時候會來，就會提高警覺，不讓他摸進屋裡。

挪亞的時代怎樣，人子降臨的時候也是這樣。

撒稗子的仇敵是魔鬼，收割的時候是這世代的終結，收割的工人是天使。稗子怎樣被拔掉用火焚燒，在這世代終結的時候，也是一樣。

“你們應該從無花果樹學個功課：樹枝長出嫩芽生出葉子的時候，你們就知道夏天近了；同樣，當你們看見這一切，就知道人子已經近在門口了。

電光怎樣從東方閃出來，一直照到西方，人子降臨的時候，也是這樣。

這世代終結的時候，也是一樣。那時天使要出去，把惡人從義人中分別出來。

弟兄們，論到時候和日期，不用寫甚麼給你們了。因為你們自己清楚知道，主的日子來到，就像夜間的賊來到一樣。人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。但是弟兄們，你們不在黑暗裡，以致那日子會臨到你們像賊來到一樣。你們都是光明之子、白晝之子；我們不是屬於黑夜的，也不是屬於黑暗的。所以，我們不要沉睡像別人一樣，總要警醒謹慎。因為睡覺的人是在晚上睡，醉酒的人是在晚上醉；但我們既然屬於白晝，就應當謹慎，披上信和愛的胸甲，戴上救恩的盼望作頭盔。因為神不是定意要我們受刑罰（“刑罰”原文作“忿怒”），而是要我們藉著我們的主耶穌基督得著救恩。基督替我們死，使我們無論是醒著或睡著，都和他一同活著。所以，你們應該彼此勸慰，互相造就，正如你們一向所行的。

我吩咐你們的一切，都要教導他們遵守。這樣，我就常常與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。”

彼得看見他，就問耶穌：“主啊，這個人將來怎麼樣？”耶穌回答他：“如果我要他活到我來的時候，跟你有甚麼關係呢？你只管跟從我吧！”

那些人問他：“老師，甚麼時候會有這些事呢？這些事要發生的時候，有甚麼預兆呢？”

門徒悄悄地前來問耶穌：“為甚麼我們不能把鬼趕出去呢？”

等到洪水來到，把他們沖去，他們才明白過來；人子降臨的時候也是這樣。

耶穌離開群眾，進到屋裡，門徒前來問他：“請你給我們解釋田裡稗子的比喻。”

門徒前來告訴他：“法利賽人聽了這話很生氣，你知道嗎？”

門徒上前問耶穌：“你對他們講話，為甚麼用比喻呢？”他回答：“天國的奧祕，只給你們知道，卻不給他們知道。
