In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

若不减少那日子，凡有血气的总没有一个得救的；只是为选民，那日子必减少了。

若不减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；可是为了选民，那些日子将减少。

若非減其日、則無得救者、但為選民故、其日將減耳、

斯時不稍減其日、則無得救者、蓋為所選之民、此日可稍減耳、

若不稍減其日、則無一人得救、但為蒙選者、其日必減、

若不減其時日、血氣之倫、將無倖全；惟為蒙選者之故、時日必當見減。

Unless those days were limited, no one would survive. But those days will be limited because of the elect.

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.

In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, not a single person will survive. But for the sake of his chosen ones he has shortened those days.

For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.

And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world— from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.

But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God.( This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes;

“ But I will not destroy them all,” says the Lord.“ For just as good grapes are found among a cluster of bad ones( and someone will say,‘ Don’t throw them all away— some of those grapes are good!’), so I will not destroy all Israel. For I still have true servants there.I will preserve a remnant of the people of Israel and of Judah to possess my land. Those I choose will inherit it, and my servants will live there.

I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ.And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say,“ The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness.And this is my covenant with them, that I will take away their sins.”Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead.Now they are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God’s mercy.

“ For many are called, but few are chosen.”

If even a tenth— a remnant— survive, it will be invaded again and burned. But as a terebinth or oak tree leaves a stump when it is cut down, so Israel’s stump will be a holy seed.”

I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken into captivity, and the rest will be left among the ruins of the city.

Two thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die,” says the Lord.“ But one third will be left in the land.
