若不减少那日子，凡有血气的总没有一个得救的；只是为选民，那日子必减少了。

若不減其時日、血氣之倫、將無倖全；惟為蒙選者之故、時日必當見減。

In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (niv)

And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. (niv)

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? (niv)

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (niv)

Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad— in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: (niv)

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:“ The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. “ For many are invited, but few are chosen.” (niv)

And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” (niv)

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. (niv)

In the whole land,” declares the Lord,“ two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it. (niv)
