如果那些日子不被减少，就没有一个人能得救。可是为了那些蒙拣选的人，那些日子将被减少。

若不减少那日子，凡有血气的总没有一个得救的；只是为选民，那日子必减少了。

若不减少那些日子，凡血肉之躯的，就没有一个能得救；可是为了选民，那些日子将减少。

斯時不稍減其日、則無得救者、蓋為所選之民、此日可稍減耳、

若不減其時日、血氣之倫、將無倖全；惟為蒙選者之故、時日必當見減。

如果不是主减少了那些日子，就没有一个人能得救。然而，为了那些蒙拣选的人，就是他所拣选的，他减少了那些日子。

因为假基督们和假先知们会出现，行大神迹和奇事，如果有可能，甚至迷惑那些蒙拣选的人。

在嘹亮的号角声中，他要差派他的天使们从四方，从天这边到天那边，召集他所拣选的人。

难道神绝不会给那些他所拣选、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道吗？难道神会耽误帮助他们吗？

所以，我为了那些蒙拣选的人忍受一切，好让他们也能得到那在基督耶稣里的救恩和永恒的荣耀。

实际上，双子还没有出生，也没有行善或作恶以前——为了要显明神的拣选心意不是本于人的行为，而是出于召唤人的那一位——

耶和华如此说：“当新酒在累累葡萄中被发现时，人怎样说：‘不要毁灭它，因为有祝福在其中’，我也要怎样做——为我仆人们的缘故，不把一切都毁灭。我必使后裔从雅各而出，使我众山的继承人从犹大而来；我的选民必拥有那地，我的仆人们必居住在那里。

弟兄们，我不愿意你们不明白这奥秘，免得你们自以为聪明。这奥秘就是：以色列人中的部分人变得刚硬，直到外邦人的全数满足了，以色列全家才会得救，正如经上所记：“一位拯救者将从锡安而来，他要从雅各除去不敬神的心，这就是我的约——当我除去他们罪孽的时候，所给他们的约。”就福音而言，他们因你们的缘故，固然是神的敌人；但就拣选而言，他们因祖先的缘故，却是蒙爱的，因为神的恩赐和召唤是不撤回的。正如你们以前不肯信从神而现在却因他们的不信从反而蒙了怜悯；照样，他们如今也不肯信从，为要藉着你们所蒙的怜悯，让他们现在也可以蒙怜悯，

“要知道，蒙召唤的人多，而蒙拣选的人少。”

这地必被再次焚烧，其中还会有十分之一的人存留，就像黄连树和橡树被砍伐，其中还会有树桩存留；圣洁的后裔就是这树桩。”
