At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent.“ Hurry,” they said to Lot.“ Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

Some of Pharaoh’s officials were afraid because of what the Lord had said. They quickly brought their servants and livestock in from the fields.But those who paid no attention to the word of the Lord left theirs out in the open.

Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city.For those will be days of God’s vengeance, and the prophetic words of the Scriptures will be fulfilled.

When the Babylonian army left Jerusalem because of Pharaoh’s approaching army,Jeremiah started to leave the city on his way to the territory of Benjamin, to claim his share of the property among his relatives there.

“ Run for your lives, you people of Benjamin! Get out of Jerusalem! Sound the alarm in Tekoa! Send up a signal at Beth hakkerem! A powerful army is coming from the north, coming with disaster and destruction.
