蓋吾語爾、自今而後、以至爾歡呼「奉主名而來者、洵堪頌揚」之日、爾將不得睹予矣。』

Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord.

Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,“ Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!”

I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ.

But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ.Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand.But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord— who is the Spirit— makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Later Jesus said to them again,“ I am going away. You will search for me but will die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going.”

Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.

Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.”

This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king or prince, and without sacrifices, sacred pillars, priests, or even idols!

Jesus replied,“ Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?

and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required,Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying,“ Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised.I have seen your salvation,

Then he said to his disciples,“ The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it.

That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”

“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said,“ Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen.

O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops! Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah,“ Your God is coming!”Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

“ Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.
