“经文士和法利赛人哪，你们这些伪善的人有祸了！因为你们洗净杯子、盘子的外面，里面却盛满了贪心和放纵。

「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們洗淨杯盤的外面，裡頭卻盛滿了貪婪和放縱。

『經學士和法利賽人、假冒為善的人哪，你們有禍啊！因為你們潔淨杯盤的外面；裏面呢、卻滿了勒索和放縱。

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們洗淨杯子、盤子的外面，裡面卻盛滿了貪心和放縱。

禍哉、爾偽善之士子與法利賽人乎、以爾潔杯盤之外、而內充以劫奪邪侈也、

偽善之士子、𠵽唎㘔人、其有禍乎、以爾潔杯盤之外、而劫奪非義充其內、

禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾潔杯盤之外、內則充滿劫奪及非義、

哀哉爾經生與法利塞人、虛偽之徒也！蓋爾第潔杯盤之表、而內充貪污邪欲。

“ Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

“ What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy— full of greed and self indulgence!

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.

主對他說：“你們法利賽人把杯盤的外面洗淨，但你們裡面卻充滿了搶奪和邪惡。無知的人哪，那造外面的，不也造裡面嗎？

因為從心裡出來的，有惡念、兇殺、姦淫、淫亂、偷盜、假見證和毀謗。這些才會使人污穢，不洗手吃飯卻不會這樣。”

從街市回來，若不洗手，就不吃東西，還有許多別的傳統，他們都沿襲拘守，例如洗杯、洗罐、洗銅器等等。）法利賽人和經學家問耶穌：“你的門徒為甚麼不遵行古人的傳統，用不潔的手吃飯呢？”耶穌對他們說：“以賽亞指著你們這班偽君子所說的預言是對的，經上記著：‘這人民用嘴唇尊敬我，心卻遠離我；他們把人的規條當作道理去教導人，所以拜我也是徒然。’你們拘守著人的傳統，卻離棄了神的誡命。”耶穌又對他們說：“你們為了堅守自己的傳統，而巧妙地把神的誡命拒絕了。因為摩西說：‘當孝敬父母’，又說：‘咒罵父母的，必被處死。’你們倒說：‘人對父母說，我應該給你的供奉，已經作了各耳板’（各耳板意思是奉給神的供物），你們就不讓那人再為父母作甚麼。這樣，你們藉著所領受的傳統，把神的話廢棄了。你們還作了許多這一類的事。”

就是這地的人，也因酒搖晃不定，因濃酒東倒西歪；祭司和先知都因濃酒搖晃不定，被酒弄至昏亂，因濃酒東倒西歪。他們見異象的時候，搖晃不定，他們判斷的時候，也顛顛倒倒。因為各席上都滿了污穢的嘔吐，沒有一處是乾淨的。
