You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

You blind guides! You remove the smallest insect from your food. But you swallow a whole camel!

Blind guides! You strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat, but you swallow a camel!

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored.

And the chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.And he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?For God said, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death.But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is given to God;he shall not honor his father. And ye have made void the word of God because of your tradition.

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?

They cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.

They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Prætorium: and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Prætorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.
