“瞎眼的向导啊，你们有祸了！你们说，‘指着圣殿发誓，不算数；但是指着圣殿里的金子发誓，就要遵守誓言。’

“你们这些瞎眼的向导有祸了！你们说：‘凡指着圣所而起的誓，是没有用的；但指着圣所的金子而起的誓，就必须遵守。’

“你们这些瞎眼的领路人有祸了！你们说：‘如果有人指着圣所起誓，算不得什么；但如果有人指着圣所里的金子起誓，就必须遵守。’

“你們這些瞎眼的嚮導有禍了！你們說：‘凡指著聖所而起的誓，是沒有用的；但指著聖所的金子而起的誓，就必須遵守。’

『瞎眼的領路人哪，你們有禍啊！你們說：「凡指着殿堂起誓的，那算不了甚麼；惟獨指着殿堂裏的金子起誓的，就必須負責任。」

「你們這些瞎眼的領路人有禍了！你們說：『如果有人指著聖所起誓，算不得什麼；但如果有人指著聖所裡的金子起誓，就必須遵守。』

禍哉、爾瞽而導者乎、每曰、人指殿而誓、則無事、惟指殿之金而誓、則當償之、

爾瞽而相者、其有禍乎、每曰、人指殿而誓、則無事、惟指殿內之金而誓、則當償之、

禍哉爾曹瞽而導人者、爾素云、指聖殿而誓、則不足為誓、惟指聖殿之金而誓、則當守之、

哀哉爾曹盲而作導者！爾謂指殿而誓、猶同無誓、若指殿中之金而誓、乃受拘束。

“ Woe to you, blind guides! You say,‘ If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’

“ How terrible for you, blind guides! You say,‘ If anyone makes a promise in the name of the temple, it means nothing. But anyone who makes a promise in the name of the gold of the temple must keep that promise.’

“ Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear‘ by God’s Temple,’ but that it is binding to swear‘ by the gold in the Temple.’

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever takes an oath by the temple, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gold of the temple is bound by his oath.’

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’

Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever takes an oath by the sanctuary, it means nothing. But whoever takes an oath by the gold of the sanctuary is bound by his oath.’

Woe unto you,[ ye] blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple is bound by nothing. But whoever swears by the gold of the temple is bound by the oath.’

“ Woe to you, you blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’

Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

“ Again you have heard that it was said to those of old,‘ You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.’But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your“ yes” be yes and your“ no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?

Jesus said,“ For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him,“ Are we also blind?”Jesus said to them,“ If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say,‘ We see,’ your guilt remains.

His watchmen are blind; they are all without knowledge; they are all silent dogs; they cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.The dogs have a mighty appetite; they never have enough. But they are shepherds who have no understanding; they have all turned to their own way, each to his own gain, one and all.

I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.

But you say,‘ If anyone tells his father or his mother,“ What you would have gained from me is given to God,”he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.

For Moses said,‘ Honor your father and your mother’; and,‘ Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’But you say,‘ If a man tells his father or his mother,“ Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’( that is, given to God)—then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
