When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying,“ Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”So they said,“ Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”He said to them,“ But who do you say that I am?”Simon Peter answered and said,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”Jesus answered and said to him,“ Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them— My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I, the Lord, have spoken.

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

“ Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,“ That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

But Simon Peter answered Him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christand be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:“ Hosanna to the Son of David!‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

saying with a loud voice:“ Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:“ Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”Then the four living creatures said,“ Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying,“ Son of David, have mercy on us!”

And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David,As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began,

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.So they said to him,“ In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:‘ But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’”

And Thomas answered and said to Him,“ My Lord and my God!”

Nathanael answered and said to Him,“ Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,“ Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,“ The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,”

Others said,“ This is the Christ.” But some said,“ Will the Christ come out of Galilee?Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”

Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Truly You are the Son of God.”

And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said,‘ I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior— Jesus—

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
