For the commandments,“ Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,”( and if there is any other commandment) are summed up in this,“ Love your neighbor as yourself.”

In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

We love because he loved us first.If anyone says“ I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
