But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why make ye trial of me? bring me a denarius, that I may see it.And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar’s.And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled greatly at him.

For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

that make a man an offender in his cause, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just with a thing of nought.
