父親前來對小兒子也說同樣的話。「小兒子回答說：『主啊，我去。』可是他沒有去。

謂其仲子亦如之、對曰、主諾、既而不往、

命其次子亦如之、對曰、主、諾、既而不果往、

又就次子、亦如此言、對曰、主、我往、而終不往、

諭次子亦往、次子曰：「大人、我往。」然竟未往也。

They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.

And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them; for they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, and their heart follows their unlawful gain.

Therefore, whatever they tell you, do and comply with it all, but do not do as they do; for they say things and do not do them.

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely upon the Law and boast in God,and know His will and distinguish the things that matter, being instructed from the Law,and are confident that you yourself are a guide to people who are blind, a light to those in darkness,a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, possessing in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth—you, therefore, who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that one is not to steal, do you steal?You who say that one is not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who loathe idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God?For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a violator of the Law, your circumcision has turned into uncircumcision.
