前呼後擁的人羣喊着說：「和散那歸於大衛之子！奉主名來的是應當稱頌的！至高無上的，和散那！」

人羣中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，責備你的門徒吧！」耶穌回答：「我告訴你們，若是這些人閉口不說，石頭也要呼叫起來。」

祭司長和文士在想法子怎樣殺害耶穌，因他們懼怕百姓。

到了早晨，眾祭司長和百姓的長老商議要處死耶穌，

耶穌從那裏往前走，有兩個盲人跟着他，喊叫說：「大衛之子，可憐我們吧！」

天一亮，民間的眾長老、祭司長和文士都聚集，把耶穌帶到他們的議會裏，

那時，祭司長和法利賽人早已下令，若有人知道耶穌的下落，就要報告，他們好去捉拿他。

經上不是說『基督是大衛的後裔，出自大衛的本鄉伯利恆』嗎？」

耶和華啊，你的手高舉，他們不觀看；願他們觀看你為百姓發的熱心而羞愧，願火吞滅你的敵人。

有一天，耶穌在聖殿裏教導百姓，宣講福音的時候，祭司長、文士和長老上前來，

祭司長和文士聽見這話，就想法子要除掉耶穌，卻又怕他，因為眾人都對他的教導感到驚奇。

祭司長和長老挑唆眾人，要求釋放巴拉巴，除掉耶穌。

耶穌進了聖殿，正教導人的時候，祭司長和百姓的長老來問他：「你仗着甚麼權柄做這些事？給你這權柄的是誰呢？」

法利賽人彼此說：「你們看，你們一事無成，世人都隨着他去了。」

祭司長和全議會尋找假見證控告耶穌，要處死他。

「論到基督，你們的意見如何？他是誰的後裔呢？」他們說：「是大衛的。」

耶穌知道法利賽人聽見他收門徒和施洗比約翰還多，（

那時，祭司長和百姓的長老聚集在那稱為該亞法的大祭司的院裏。

祭司長和法利賽人召開議會，說：「這人行好些神蹟，我們怎麼辦呢？若讓他這樣做，人人都要信他；羅馬人也要來毀滅我們的聖殿和我們的民族。」其中有一個人，名叫該亞法，那年當大祭司，對他們說：「你們甚麼都不知道，
