前行後隨的人群呼喊說：「和散那歸於大衛的後裔！奉主名而來的那一位——是蒙祝福的！在至高之處——和散那！」

人群中有一些法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，責備你的門徒吧！」耶穌回答說：「我告訴你們：這些人如果不做聲，石頭都會呼喊起來！」

祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣能殺掉耶穌，因為他們怕民眾。

到了清晨，所有的祭司長和民間的長老商議對付耶穌，為要處死他。

耶穌從那裡往前走，有兩個瞎眼的跟著他，呼叫說：「大衛的後裔，可憐我們吧！」

一到天亮，民間的長老議會，包括祭司長們和經文士們，就聚集在一起。他們把耶穌帶到議會裡，

原來，祭司長們和法利賽人早就下令，如果有人知道耶穌在哪裡，就要報告，好抓住他。

經上不是說，基督是大衛的後裔，是出自大衛的故鄉伯利恆嗎？」

耶和華啊，你的手高舉，他們卻不看！願他們看到你對子民的熱心就蒙羞；願你為敵人所預備的烈火吞噬他們！

就在那些日子裡，有一天耶穌在聖殿裡教導民眾、傳福音的時候，祭司長們、經文士們和長老們一起上前來，

祭司長們和經文士們聽了，就圖謀怎樣來除滅耶穌。原來他們怕耶穌，因為眾人都對他的教導驚嘆不已。

祭司長們和長老們挑唆眾人，叫他們要巴拉巴，而除滅耶穌。

耶穌進了聖殿，正教導人的時候，祭司長們和民間的長老們前來問他：「你憑什麼權柄做這些事？是誰給你這權柄的？」

於是法利賽人互相說：「可見你們真沒用！看，這世界都跟隨他去了。」

當時，祭司長們和全議會的人為了要處死耶穌，都在尋找偽證來控告他。

說：「關於基督，你們怎麼看？他是誰的後裔呢？」他們說：「是大衛的後裔。」

耶穌知道，法利賽人聽說他收門徒和施洗比約翰更多。

那時，祭司長們和民間的長老們聚集在叫該亞法的大祭司的宅院裡，

於是祭司長們和法利賽人召集了議會，說：「這個人行了很多神蹟，我們該做什麼呢？如果任憑他這樣下去，大家都會信他，羅馬人就會來，奪取我們的聖地和國家！」其中有一個人叫該亞法，是當年的大祭司，對他們說：「你們什麼都不懂！
