眾人前呼後擁，歡呼著說：「和散那歸於大衛的後裔！奉主名來的當受稱頌！和散那歸於至高之處的上帝！」

百姓中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，你要責備你的門徒。」耶穌說：「我告訴你們，如果他們閉口不言，這些石頭都要呼喊了！」

祭司長和律法教師因為害怕百姓，便密謀如何殺害耶穌。

到了清晨，所有的祭司長和民間的長老商定要處死耶穌。

耶穌從那裡往前走，有兩個瞎子跟著祂，高聲呼叫：「大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」

天亮後，民間的長老、祭司長和律法教師聚在一起，把耶穌押到他們的公會，

當時祭司長和法利賽人早已下令，如果有人知道耶穌在哪裡，就來報告，他們好去抓祂。

聖經上不是說基督是大衛的後裔，要降生在大衛的故鄉伯利恆嗎？」

你懲罰的手高高舉起，他們卻看不見。願他們因看見你向你子民所發的熱心而感到羞愧。願你為敵人預備的火燒滅他們。

有一天，耶穌正在聖殿裡教導人、傳講福音，祭司長、律法教師和長老上前，

祭司長和律法教師聽到這番話後，就策劃如何殺害耶穌，只是有些怕祂，因為百姓都對祂的教導感到驚奇。

祭司長和長老卻慫恿百姓要求釋放巴拉巴，處死耶穌。

耶穌進了聖殿，正在教導人的時候，祭司長和民間的長老來質問祂：「你憑什麼權柄做這些事？誰授權給你了？」

法利賽人彼此議論說：「我們真是枉費心思！你看，整個世界都跟著祂跑了。」

祭司長和全公會的人正在尋找假證據來控告耶穌，好定祂死罪。

「你們對基督有何看法？祂是誰的後裔？」他們答道：「大衛的後裔。」

耶穌得知法利賽人聽見祂收門徒、為人施洗比約翰還多，便離開猶太回加利利。其實不是耶穌親自施洗，而是祂的門徒施洗。

那時，祭司長和民間的長老正聚集在大祭司該亞法的府裡，

祭司長和法利賽人便召開公會會議，說：「這人行了這麼多神蹟，我們該怎麼辦呢？如果讓祂這樣繼續下去，所有的人都會信祂，那時羅馬人一定會來奪取我們的土地，擄掠我們的人民。」當年擔任大祭司的該亞法對他們說：「你們什麼都不懂！
