到那日，他的脚必站在对着耶路撒冷，在东面的橄榄山上；这橄榄山必从中间裂开，由东至西成为极大的山谷。山的一半向北挪移，一半向南挪移。

耶稣照常到橄榄山去，门徒也跟着他。

他们走近耶路撒冷，到了伯法其和伯大尼，来到橄榄山那里，耶稣派了两个门徒，对他们说：“你们往对面的村子里去，一进去，就会看见一头小驴拴在那里，是没有人骑过的，把它解开牵来。如果有人问你们：‘为什么这样作？’你们就说：‘主需要它，并且很快会送还到这里来。’”门徒去了，就发现一头小驴，拴在门外的街上，就把它解开。站在那里的人有的问他们说：“你们为什么解它？”门徒照着耶稣所说的话回答他们，那些人就让他们牵走了。门徒把小驴牵到耶稣那里，把自己的衣服搭在上面，耶稣就骑了上去。许多人把衣服铺在路上，还有人从田野里砍了些树枝也铺在路上。前行后随的人都喊着说：“‘和散那’，奉主名来的是应当称颂的！那将要来临的，我们祖先大卫的国是应当称颂的！高天之上当唱‘和散那’！”

耶稣讲完这些话，就往前走，上耶路撒冷去。将到伯法其和伯大尼，就在橄榄山那里，他差派两个门徒，说：“你们往对面的村子里去，走进去的时候，就会看见一头从来没有人骑过的小驴，拴在那里，把它解开牵来。如果有人问为什么解开它，你们要这样说：‘主需要它。’”被差的人去了，发现和主所说的一样。他们解开小驴的时候，主人问他们：“你们为什么解开它？”他们说：“主需要它。”他们把小驴牵到耶稣那里，把自己的衣服搭在上面，扶着耶稣上去。耶稣前行的时候，众人把自己的衣服铺在路上。他走近耶路撒冷，快要下橄榄山的时候，全体门徒因为所看见的一切神迹，就欢乐起来，大声赞美神，说：“奉主名来的王，是应当称颂的！在天上有和平，在至高之处有荣耀！”

他们唱完了诗，就出来，往橄榄山去。
