众人都回家去了，耶稣却上了橄榄山。

于是，他们从橄榄山回到耶路撒冷。橄榄山距离耶路撒冷不远，约是安息日允许走的路程。

耶稣每天在圣殿里讲道，晚上则到城外的橄榄山上过夜。

到那天，祂的脚必踏在耶路撒冷东面的橄榄山上，这山必从东至西分成两半，一半向北移，一半向南移，中间形成极大的山谷。

耶稣离开，像往常一样前往橄榄山，门徒也跟去了。

耶稣和门徒将近耶路撒冷，快到橄榄山附近的伯法其和伯大尼两个村庄时，祂派了两个门徒，对他们说：“你们去前面的村庄，一进村就会看见一头从来没有人骑过的驴驹拴在那里，你们把它解开牵来。若有人问你们为什么这样做，就说，‘主要用它，很快会把它送回来。’”他们进了村子，果然看见有一头驴驹拴在街道旁一户人家的门外，就上前解开它。旁边站着的几个人就问他们：“你们为什么要解开这头驴驹？”门徒依照耶稣的吩咐回答，那些人就让他们牵走了。他们把驴驹牵到耶稣面前，将自己的外衣搭在驴背上，耶稣就骑了上去。很多人把衣服铺在路上，有人将田间的树枝砍下来铺在路上。大家前呼后拥，高声欢呼：“和散那！奉主名来的当受称颂！那将要来临的我祖大卫的国度当受称颂！和散那归于至高之处的上帝！”

耶稣说完这个比喻，就走在众人前面上耶路撒冷去。快到橄榄山附近的伯法其和伯大尼时，耶稣派了两个门徒，说：“你们去前面的村庄，进村的时候，必看见一头从来没有人骑过的驴驹拴在那里，你们把它解开牵来。若有人问你们为什么把它解开，就说，‘主要用它。’”两个门徒出去后，所遇见的情形正如耶稣所说的。当他们解开驴驹时，主人果然问他们：“你们为什么解开驴驹？”他们说：“主要用它。”他们牵着驴驹回去见耶稣，又把自己的外衣搭在驴背上，扶耶稣上驴。耶稣骑着驴前行，众人用外衣为祂铺路。祂正走下橄榄山，将近耶路撒冷的时候，众门徒因为以往所见的神迹奇事，就欢腾起来，高声赞美上帝：“奉主名来的王当受称颂！天上有平安，至高处有荣耀！”

他们唱完诗歌，就出门去了橄榄山。
