趁着白日，我們必須做差我來的那位的工；黑夜來到，就沒有人能做工了。

這樣你們才不會懶惰，卻成為效法那些藉着信和忍耐承受應許的人。

原來所有的雅典人和居住在那裏的外國人都無暇管別的事，只是談談或聽聽新聞。

凡你手所當做的事，要盡力去做；因為在你所必須去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

看哪，你的妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的女兒們都驕傲，糧源充足，大享安逸，卻不扶持困苦和貧窮人的手。

懶惰使人沉睡，懈怠的人必捱餓。

另一個就應聲責備他，說：「你是一樣受刑的，還不怕神嗎？我們是應得的，因為我們是自作自受，但這個人沒有做過一件不對的事。」他對耶穌說：「耶穌啊，你進入你國的時候，求你記念我。」耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你，今日你要同我在樂園裏了。」
