The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

The crowd commanded them to stop. They told them to be quiet. But the two men shouted even louder,“ Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on us!”

“ Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying,“ Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should lay his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

pray without ceasing;

And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man:and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming.And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth.And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for thou hast striven with God and with men, and hast prevailed.And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
