Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

We grope for the wall like the blind, And we grope as if we had no eyes; We stumble at noonday as at twilight; We are as dead men in desolate places.

“ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,

And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.

And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying,“ Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.

I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.And His disciples asked Him, saying,“ Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”Jesus answered,“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.And He said to him,“ Go, wash in the pool of Siloam”( which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said,“ Is not this he who sat and begged?”Some said,“ This is he.” Others said,“ He is like him.” He said,“ I am he.”Therefore they said to him,“ How were your eyes opened?”He answered and said,“ A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me,‘ Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”Then they said to him,“ Where is He?” He said,“ I do not know.”

When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying,“ Son of David, have mercy on us!”And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them,“ Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him,“ Yes, Lord.”Then He touched their eyes, saying,“ According to your faith let it be to you.”And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying,“ See that no one knows it.”But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country.

The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous.

concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
