Two blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted,“ Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David!”

Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

They came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

“ What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said,“ The son of David.”

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

“ Listen, you deaf ones! Take notice, you blind ones!

Then they brought to him a demon- possessed man who was blind and mute. Jesus healed him so that he could speak and see.All the crowds were amazed and said,“ Could this one be the Son of David?”

So then, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,

We grope along the wall like the blind, we grope like those who cannot see; we stumble at noontime as if it were evening. Though others are strong, we are like dead men.

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,to announce the year when the LORD will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,

At that very time Jesus cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits, and granted sight to many who were blind.

A Canaanite woman from that area came and cried out,“ Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is horribly demon- possessed!”

Then blind eyes will open, deaf ears will hear.Then the lame will leap like a deer, the mute tongue will shout for joy; for water will flow in the desert, streams in the wilderness.

I will lead the blind along an unfamiliar way; I will guide them down paths they have never traveled. I will turn the darkness in front of them into light, and level out the rough ground. This is what I will do for them. I will not abandon them.

Now as Jesus was passing by, he saw a man who had been blind from birth.His disciples asked him,“ Rabbi, who committed the sin that caused him to be born blind, this man or his parents?”Jesus answered,“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that the acts of God may be revealed through what happens to him.We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”Having said this, he spat on the ground and made some mud with the saliva. He smeared the mud on the blind man’s eyesand said to him,“ Go wash in the pool of Siloam”( which is translated“ sent”). So the blind man went away and washed, and came back seeing.Then the neighbors and the people who had seen him previously as a beggar began saying,“ Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?”Some people said,“ This is the man!” while others said,“ No, but he looks like him.” The man himself kept insisting,“ I am the one!”So they asked him,“ How then were you made to see?”He replied,“ The man called Jesus made mud, smeared it on my eyes and told me,‘ Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and was able to see.”They said to him,“ Where is that man?” He replied,“ I don’t know.”

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”When he went into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them,“ Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him,“ Yes, Lord.”Then he touched their eyes saying,“ Let it be done for you according to your faith.”And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly warned them,“ See that no one knows about this.”But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region.

The LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up all who are bent over. The LORD loves the godly.

concerning his Son who was a descendant of David with reference to the flesh,who was appointed the Son- of- God- in- power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

The blind and lame came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.

At that time the deaf will be able to hear words read from a scroll, and the eyes of the blind will be able to see through deep darkness.
