But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

耶穌回答說：「你們不知道所求的是甚麼；我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們說：「我們能。」

耶穌回答：「你們不知道所求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們對他說：「我們能。」

耶穌回答說：「你們不知道自己在求什麼。我要喝的那一杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們說：「我們能。」

耶穌回答：“你們不知道你們求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？”他們說：“能。”

耶穌回答說：『你們所求的、你們不曉得。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝麼？』他們對他說：『我們能。』

耶穌就回答說：「你們不知道自己在求什麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們說：「我們能。」

耶穌應曰：『爾亦不知所求矣！我飲之爵、爾能飲乎？』曰：『能。』

“ You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them.“ Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?”“ We can,” they answered.

“ You don’t know what you’re asking for,” Jesus said to them.“ Can you drink the cup of suffering I am going to drink?”“ We can,” they answered.

Jesus answered,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to him,“ We are able.”

But Jesus answered by saying to them,“ You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink?”“ Oh yes,” they replied,“ we are able!”

Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?”“ We are able,” they said to him.

But Jesus replied,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They* said to Him,“ We are able.”

But Jesus answered and said,“ You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him,“ We are able.”

But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.

But Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?”“ We are able,” they said to Him.

Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?” They said to him,“ We are able.”

But Jesus answered,“ You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to him,“ We are able.”

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things[ are] possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou[ wilt].

Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God[ that] pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling,[ even] the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume[ it] upon your lusts.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment[ was] not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and[ art] thou he[ that] shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink[ of it].

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling,[ and] wrung[ them] out.

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:[ To wit], Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as[ it is] this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which[ are] beyond the sea,Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all[ that are] in the utmost corners,And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which[ are] upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread[ the grapes], against all the inhabitants of the earth.A noise shall come[ even] to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them[ that are] wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from[ one] end of the earth even unto the[ other] end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves[ in the ashes], ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock,[ shall be heard]: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

Pride[ goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
