從那裏往前走，他看見了另有兄弟二人，就是西庇太的兒子雅各、和他兄弟約翰，同他們的父親西庇太在船上、修整着網子，就呼召他們。

忽有一個患痲瘋屬之病的上前來拜他說：『主啊，你若肯，就會使我潔淨。』

其中有抹大拉的馬利亞、雅各和約瑟的母親馬利亞，和西庇太倆兒子的母親。

西庇太的兒子雅各約翰走近耶穌跟前來，對他說：『老師，我們無論向你求甚麼，願你給我們作。』耶穌對他們說：『願我給你們作甚麼？』他們對他說：『賜我們在你榮耀裏、一個坐在你右邊，一個在左邊。』耶穌對他們說：『你們所求的、你們不曉得。我、所喝的杯，你們能喝麼？我、所受的洗，你們能受麼？』他們對他說：『我們能。』耶穌對他們說：『我所喝的杯，你們必要喝，我所受的洗，你們必要受；但坐在我右邊或左邊，不是我可以賜的，乃是給誰豫備了，就給誰。』那十個人聽見了，就惱怒雅各約翰。耶穌把他們叫來，對他們說：『你們知道、外國人有那些自尊為管理他們的、做主治理他們，有他們的大人掌權管轄他們。你們中間可不是這樣：不，你們中間凡想要做大的、就該做你們的僕役；你們中間凡想要為首的、就該做眾人的奴僕。因為人子來，不是要受服事，乃是要服事人，並且將性命獻出，替許多人做贖價。』

還有婦女們從遠處觀看着；其中有抹大拉的馬利亞、小雅各和約瑟的母親馬利亞、和撒羅米；

船上的人都拜他說：『你真是上帝的兒子啊！』

進了房子，看見小孩子同他母親馬利亞，便俯伏拜他，揭開了寶盒，將黃金乳香沒藥等禮物獻給他。

那婦人卻來拜他說：『主啊，援助我。』

他們見了他，就拜他；但是還有疑惑的。
