“ We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death

“ We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said.“ The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will sentence him to death.

“ Listen,” he said,“ we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die.

“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death.

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.

What is your judgment?” They answered,“ He deserves death.”

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,“ Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.”

“ Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God.More in number than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause; mighty are those who would destroy me, those who attack me with lies. What I did not steal must I now restore?O God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you.Let not those who hope in you be put to shame through me, O Lord God of hosts; let not those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonor has covered my face.I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s sons.For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.When I wept and humbled my soul with fasting, it became my reproach.When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.I am the talk of those who sit in the gate, and the drunkards make songs about me.But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.Deliver me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.Let not the flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the pit close its mouth over me.Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good; according to your abundant mercy, turn to me.Hide not your face from your servant, for I am in distress; make haste to answer me.Draw near to my soul, redeem me; ransom me because of my enemies!You know my reproach, and my shame and my dishonor; my foes are all known to you.Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.Let their own table before them become a snare; and when they are at peace, let it become a trap.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see, and make their loins tremble continually.Pour out your indignation upon them, and let your burning anger overtake them.May their camp be a desolation; let no one dwell in their tents.For they persecute him whom you have struck down, and they recount the pain of those you have wounded.Add to them punishment upon punishment; may they have no acquittal from you.Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.But I am afflicted and in pain; let your salvation, O God, set me on high!I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them.For God will save Zion and build up the cities of Judah, and people shall dwell there and possess it;the offspring of his servants shall inherit it, and those who love his name shall dwell in it.

for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place.

You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death.And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him,“ Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows.

As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them,“ The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men,and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed.

Then they said,“ What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips.”

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them.To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;“ He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”Yet you are he who took me from the womb; you made me trust you at my mother’s breasts.On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother’s womb you have been my God.Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help.Many bulls encompass me; strong bulls of Bashan surround me;they open wide their mouths at me, like a ravening and roaring lion.I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast;my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet—I can count all my bones— they stare and gloat over me;they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.But you, O Lord, do not be far off! O you my help, come quickly to my aid!Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog!Save me from the mouth of the lion! May your hearts live forever!All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.All the prosperous of the earth eat and worship; before him shall bow all who go down to the dust, even the one who could not keep himself alive.Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord to the coming generation;they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it.

Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned— every one— to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people?And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

“ You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
