Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

吾豈不能從心所欲、處吾之所有乎？吾之慷慨、乃使爾側目耶？」

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’

Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’

Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or is thine eye evil, because I am good?

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my business? Are you jealous because I’m generous?’

Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.So then[ it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will[ have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth.Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

Eat thou not the bread of[ him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

He that hasteth to be rich[ hath] an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah[ to be] the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make[ me] king over all Israel:And of all my sons,( for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,( by grace ye are saved;)
