But he answered and said to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

主人回答其中的一人说：‘朋友，我没亏待你，你与我讲定的不是一个银币吗？

“园主对他们当中的一个人说，‘朋友，我并没有欠你呀！我们不是讲好付你一个银币吗？

家主回答他们当中的一个，说：‘朋友，我并没有亏待你。你我不是讲定了一个银币吗？

“主人回答他们其中的一个人，说：‘朋友，我并没有亏负你。我们不是彼此说好了一个银币吗？

家主回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我不虧負你，你與我講定的不是一錢銀子嗎？

主人回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我沒虧待你，你與我講定的不是一個銀幣嗎？

主人回答其中的一人說：『朋友，我沒虧待你，你與我講定的不是一個銀幣嗎？

「園主對他們當中的一個人說，『朋友，我並沒有欠你呀！我們不是講好付你一個銀幣嗎？

家主回答他們當中的一個，說：‘朋友，我並沒有虧待你。你我不是講定了一個銀幣嗎？

家主回答他們中間一個人說：「同伴哪，我不冤你；你不是和我約定了『一日工錢』麼？

「主人回答他們其中的一個人，說：『朋友，我並沒有虧負你。我們不是彼此說好了一個銀幣嗎？

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗負爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其人曰、友、我未嘗不公待爾、爾非與我約金一錢乎、

園主謂其中一人曰、友、我未負爾、爾與我約、非一第拿流乎、

主謂其一曰：「友乎、我未負爾；爾非與我約以一錢乎？

“ But he answered one of them,‘ I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?

“ The owner answered one of them.‘ Friend,’ he said,‘ I’m being fair to you. Didn’t you agree to work for the usual day’s pay?

But he replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

“ He answered one of them,‘ Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered one of them and said,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling?

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

And the landowner replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage?

“ But he answered one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius?

and he* said to him,‘ Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless.

But Jesus said to him,“ Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and arrested Him.

What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? Far from it!For He says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.”

Who goes in company with the workers of injustice, And walks with wicked people?For he has said,‘ It is of no use to a man When he becomes friends with God.’“ Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do evil, And from the Almighty to do wrong.For He repays a person for his work, And lets things happen in correspondence to a man’s behavior.God certainly will not act wickedly, And the Almighty will not pervert justice.

Shall one who hates justice rule? And will you condemn the righteous mighty One,Who says to a king,‘ You worthless one,’ To nobles,‘ You wicked one’;

“ Do you think this is in accordance with justice? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

Will you really nullify My judgment? Will you condemn Me so that you may be justified?

On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder,“ Why did you make me like this,” will it?

Far be it from You to do such a thing, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?”
