The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.

He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.He catches the wise in their own craftiness, And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the descendants of the captivity were building the temple of the Lord God of Israel,they came to Zerubbabel and the heads of the fathers’ houses, and said to them,“ Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

Destruction is in its midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from its streets.For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. And the conspiracy grew strong, for the people with Absalom continually increased in number.

They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things,

Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying,“ Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.”Immediately he went up to Jesus and said,“ Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.

So Absalom and all the men of Israel said,“ The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.

He who hates, disguises it with his lips, And lays up deceit within himself;When he speaks kindly, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart;

Then Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them,“ Ahab served Baal a little, Jehu will serve him much.Now therefore, call to me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests. Let no one be missing, for I have a great sacrifice for Baal. Whoever is missing shall not live.” But Jehu acted deceptively, with the intent of destroying the worshipers of Baal.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;and again,“ The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

There is no wisdom or understanding Or counsel against the Lord.

Please go and find out for sure, and see the place where his hideout is, and who has seen him there. For I am told he is very crafty.See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides; and come back to me with certainty, and I will go with you. And it shall be, if he is in the land, that I will search for him throughout all the clans of Judah.”
