He sent them to Bethlehem and said,“ Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

乃遣諜者偽為善人、伺其言有隙、執交有司。諜者問於耶穌曰：『夫子、吾知爾所言所教、一秉正義、不徇人情。惟天主之道是傳、

列國與兆民千算亦何益。何如主一算。萬古永不易。

營營城垣上。晝夜不曾息。悠悠都邑中。觸目皆罪孽。惡黨充街衢。行為暴且譎。就中有一人。初非我仇敵。竟亦懷貳心。無所不用極。仇人尚可忍。敵人尚可避。今爾非異人。夙與我親比。彼此稱莫逆。相與共密議。攜手入聖所。對主表心志。

仁義成絕響。忠信已泯沒。交友無誠意。口蜜心詭譎。

鬻主者先已示眾以密號曰：『予與親吻者即是、可速執之。』至是乃趨耶穌之前、曰：『夫子平安！』且與之吻。

蓋世之所謂智巧、自天主視之、愚拙莫甚焉。經不云乎：『天主令智者自墮其巧計之中。』又曰：『天主深知智者之千思萬慮、皆屬虛空。』
