于是他们大大地喧嚷起来。有些法利赛派的经文士们站起来激烈地争辩，说：“我们查不出这个人有什么错。也许有灵或天使对他说过话呢！”

因为耶稣教导他们，就像有权柄的人，不像他们的经文士们。

到了第二天，犹太人的首领、长老和经文士们都聚集在耶路撒冷。

祭司长们和经文士们都站在那里，极力控告他。

经文士和祭司长们知道这个比喻是针对他们而说的，当时就想下手捉拿耶稣，可是又怕民众。

耶稣进了圣殿，正教导人的时候，祭司长们和民间的长老们前来问他：“你凭什么权柄做这些事？是谁给你这权柄的？”

于是犹大领着一队士兵，还有祭司长们和法利赛人的差役们，带着灯笼、火把、兵器来到那里。

耶稣对他们说：“为此，凡是成为天国门徒的经文士，就好比一家的主人，从他的宝库里拿出新的和旧的东西来。”

耶稣回答说：“你是以色列的老师，还不明白这些事吗？

那时，祭司长们和民间的长老们聚集在叫该亚法的大祭司的宅院里，

祭司长们和经文士们看见耶稣所行的神迹，又见孩子们在圣殿里呼喊说：“和散那归于大卫的后裔”，就很生气。

地上的君王们站出来，首领们一同商定，敌对耶和华和他的受膏者，说：

法利赛人听到了众人私下议论耶稣的这些事。于是祭司长们和法利赛人就派差役们去抓他。

这时，经文士们和法利赛人带来一个在通奸时被抓住的妇人，叫她站在中间。

他们又煽动民众、长老和经文士们就忽然来抓住司提反，把他带到议会，

到了清晨，所有的祭司长和民间的长老商议对付耶稣，为要处死他。

耶稣开始教导他们说：“人子必须受很多苦害，被长老们、祭司长们和经文士们弃绝，并且被杀，然后在第三天要复活。”

耶稣还在说话的时候，忽然十二使徒之一的犹大来了。有一大群人拿着刀剑和棍棒与他一起来，他们是祭司长们和民间的长老们所派来的。

祭司的嘴当谨守知识，人当从他口中寻求训诲，因为他是万军之耶和华的使者。”
