But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,

But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

约瑟和马利亚照主的律法办完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。

领他们出来以后，就说：“逃命吧！不可回头看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿灭。”罗得对他们说：“我主啊，不要这样！看哪，你仆人已经在你眼前蒙恩，你又向我大施慈爱，救我的性命。但是我不能逃到山上去，恐怕这灾祸追上我，我就死了。看哪，这城又近又小，比较容易逃到那里。这不是一座小城吗？求你容我逃到那里，使我的性命可以存活。”天使对他说：“看哪，这事我也应允你，不倾覆你所说的这城。

于是他们在急难中哀求耶和华，他就搭救他们脱离祸患，又领他们行走直路，前往可居住的城。

正考虑这些事的时候，忽然主的使者在约瑟梦中向他显现，说：“大卫的子孙约瑟，不要怕，把你的妻子马利亚娶过来，因她所怀的孕是从圣灵来的。

因为这上帝永永远远为我们的上帝，他必作我们引路的，直到死时。

因为在梦中得到主的指示，不要回去见希律，他们就从别的路回自己的家乡去了。他们走后，忽然主的使者在约瑟梦中向他显现，说：“起来！带着小孩子和他母亲逃往埃及，住在那里，等我的指示；因为希律要搜寻那小孩子来杀害他。”

你要以你的训言引导我，以后你必接我到荣耀里。

亚拿尼亚回答：“主啊，我听见许多人讲到这个人，说他怎样在耶路撒冷多多苦待你的圣徒，并且他在这里有从祭司长得来的权柄，要捆绑一切求告你名的人。”

他们回答他说：“你也是出自加利利吗？你去查考就知道，加利利是不出先知的。”

你出你入，耶和华要保护你，从今时直到永远。

撒母耳说：“我怎么能去呢？扫罗一听见，就会杀我。”耶和华说：“你可以手里牵一头小母牛去，说：‘我来是要向耶和华献祭。’

耶和华—你的救赎主，以色列的圣者如此说：“我是耶和华—你的上帝，我教导你，使你得益处，指引你当走的路。甚愿你听从我的命令，你的平安就会如河水，你的公义如海浪，

希律死了以后，在埃及，忽然主的使者在约瑟梦中向他显现，

另有的说：“这是基督。”但也有的说：“难道基督是出自加利利吗？经上不是说‘基督是大卫的后裔，出自大卫的本乡伯利恒’吗？”
