But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee.

But when he learned that the new ruler of Judea was Herod’s son Archelaus, he was afraid to go there. Then, after being warned in a dream, he left for the region of Galilee.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,“ This is the way; walk in it.”

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said,“ Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”But Lot said to them,“ No, my lords, please!Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die.Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it— it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”He said to him,“ Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of.

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,“ Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“ Get up,” he said,“ take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

They replied,“ Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.”

the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

But Samuel said,“ How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” The Lord said,“ Take a heifer with you and say,‘ I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well- being like the waves of the sea.

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt

Others said,“ He is the Messiah.” Still others asked,“ How can the Messiah come from Galilee?Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?”
