耶和华这样说：“在拉玛听见有声音，是痛哭哀号的声音；拉结为她的儿女哀哭，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。”

万军之耶和华这样说：“你们要思想，要把唱哀歌的妇女召来，把那些擅长哀哭的妇女请来；叫他们赶快为我们举哀，使我们的眼流下眼泪，使我们的眼皮涌出泪水。因为从锡安可以听到哀声，说：‘我们何等衰败！我们多么羞耻！因我们丢弃了这地，我们的家园被拆毁了。’”妇女们哪！你们要听耶和华的话，你们的耳朵要领受他口中的话；要教导你们的女儿举哀，各人要彼此学习哀歌。因为死亡从窗户上来，进入我们的堡垒；要从街上剪除孩童，从广场上剪除年轻人。

他们从伯特利起程，离以法他还有一段路程的时候，拉结产期到了；但她遇到难产。她正在极辛苦的时候，接生婆对她说：“不要怕，你这次又得了一个儿子。”拉结快要死了，正要断气的时候，她给她儿子起名叫便．俄尼；他的父亲却叫他便雅悯。拉结死了，葬在通往以法他的路旁。以法他就是伯利恒。雅各在她的坟墓上立了一根柱子，就是拉结的墓碑，到今天还在。

我听到好像妇人产痛的叫声，正像生头胎孩子的妇人疼痛的叫声，就是锡安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的声音，他们喘着气，伸开双手，说：“哎！我有祸了！在那些杀人者跟前，我发昏了！”

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们总是使我丧失儿子：约瑟没有了，西缅也没有了，你们还要把便雅悯带走；每一件事都是针对我。”

他回到兄弟们那里去，说：“孩子不见了，我可到哪里去呢？”

他把书卷在我面前展开，书卷内外都写上字，写的是哀歌、悲叹和灾祸。

他认出这件长衣，就说：“是我儿子的长衣，有猛兽把他吃了。约瑟真的被撕碎了。”雅各就撕裂自己的衣服，腰束麻布，为他儿子哀悼了很多日子。他所有的儿女都起来安慰他，他却不肯接受他们的安慰，说：“我要悲悲哀哀地下到阴间，到我的儿子那里去。”约瑟的父亲就为他哀哭。

我观看，就听见一只在高空飞翔的鹰，大声说：“有祸了！有祸了！住在地上的人有祸了！因为还有三位天使将要吹其余的号。”

人死了，就化为乌有；人一气绝就不在了。
