When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.

Herod realized that the Wise Men had tricked him. So he became very angry. He gave orders about Bethlehem and the area around it. He ordered all the boys two years old and under to be killed. This agreed with the time when the Wise Men had seen the star.

They are eager to do evil, quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful; they crush and destroy.

A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but vexation by a fool is more burdensome than the two of them.Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
