where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet:“ Out of Egypt I called my son.”

至一邑名拿撒勒居焉、是為應諸先知之言云、人將稱之為拿撒勒人矣、

為應先知以賽亞之言云、西布倫地、拿弗他利地、濱海、沿約但異邦人之迦利利、

曰、昔我偕爾時、曾告爾云、凡摩西律法、先知書、及詩篇所載指我之言、皆必應、今果應矣、

兄弟、昔聖神以大衛口預言引人執耶穌之猶大、其經應驗宜也、

既釘之十字架、遂鬮分其衣、為應先知所言云、彼分我外服、鬮分我裏衣、有原文抄本無此三句

當時希律王執教會中數人、困苦之、以刀殺約翰之兄雅各、見猶太人悅此、又執彼得、時乃除酵節、既執之、遂下於獄、交卒四班、每班四人守之、欲俟逾越節後、曳出於民前判之、

希律不歸榮於天主、故主之使者、立擊之、為蟲所噬而氣絕、○於是天主之道日興而益廣、
