But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”

But all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

and ordered them not to make him known.This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:“ Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:“ The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

“ Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.

And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments among them by casting lots.

About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church.He killed James the brother of John with the sword,and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread.And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him down, because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last.But the word of God increased and multiplied.
