这是要应验先知以赛亚的话，说：“他代替我们的软弱，担当我们的疾病。”

这就应了先知耶利米的话，说：

这事成就是要应验先知的话，说：

若是这样，经上所说，事情必须如此的话怎么应验呢？”

但这一切的事成就了，为要应验先知书上的话。”当下，门徒都离开他，逃走了。

希律死了以后，有主的使者在埃及向约瑟梦中显现，说：

又嘱咐他们，不要给他传名。这是要应验先知以赛亚的话，说：“看哪！我的仆人，我所拣选、所亲爱、心里所喜悦的，我要将我的灵赐给他；他必将公理传给外邦。

到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那里。这是要应验先知所说，他将称为拿撒勒人的话了。

这是要应验先知以赛亚的话，说：“西布伦地，拿弗他利地，就是沿海的路，约旦河外，外邦人的加利利地。

耶稣对他们说：“这就是我从前与你们同在之时所告诉你们的话说：摩西的律法、先知的书，和诗篇上所记的，凡指着我的话都必须应验。”

说：“弟兄们！圣灵藉大卫的口，在圣经上预言领人捉拿耶稣的犹大，这话是必须应验的。

他们既将他钉在十字架上，就拈阄分他的衣服，

那时，希律王下手苦害教会中几个人，用刀杀了约翰的哥哥雅各。他见犹太人喜欢这事，又去捉拿彼得。那时正是除酵的日子。希律拿了彼得，收在监里，交付四班兵丁看守，每班四个人，意思要在逾越节后把他提出来，当着百姓办他。

希律不归荣耀给神，所以主的使者立刻罚他，他被虫所咬，气就绝了。神的道日见兴旺，越发广传。
