耶和華說：「以色列年幼時，我就愛他，視他為兒子，把他從埃及召出來。

上帝把他們帶出埃及，祂的力量如野牛之角。他們要吞滅敵國，打碎敵人的骨頭，用利箭射穿仇敵。

這一切應驗了主藉著先知所說的話：

我若這樣做，聖經上有關這事必如此發生的話又怎能應驗呢？」

不過這一切事的發生，是要應驗先知書上的話。」那時，門徒都丟下祂逃走了。

希律死後，主的天使在夢中向在埃及的約瑟顯現，說：

吩咐他們不要洩露祂的身分。這是要應驗以賽亞先知的話：「看啊！我所揀選、所眷愛、所喜悅的僕人，我要將我的靈賜給祂，祂要向萬邦宣揚正義。

定居在拿撒勒鎮。這應驗了先知的話：「祂將被稱為拿撒勒人。」

這就應驗了以賽亞先知的話：「西布倫、拿弗他利、沿海一帶及約旦河東、外族人居住的加利利啊！

耶穌對他們說：「我跟你們在一起的時候曾經說過，摩西的律法書、先知的書以及詩篇裡有關我的記載都要應驗。」

「弟兄們，關於帶人抓耶穌的猶大，聖靈藉著大衛的口早已預言，這經文必須要應驗。

他們把耶穌釘在十字架上，還抽籤分了祂的衣服，

那時，希律王下手殘害教會的一些人，殺了約翰的哥哥雅各。他見這樣做能取悅猶太人，便又在除酵節期間拘捕了彼得，把他關在監裡，由四班衛兵，每班四人輪流看守，想等逾越節過後當眾懲辦他。

希律沒有把榮耀歸給上帝，主的天使立刻懲罰他，他當場被蟲子咬死了。上帝的道日見興旺，越傳越廣。
