Jesus said to them,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts, but from the beginning it was not this way.

Jesus replied,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

He said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

Jesus replied,“ Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended.

He told them,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts, but it was not like that from the beginning.

He* said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.

He said to them,“ Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

He saith unto them, Moses for your hardness of heart suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it hath not been so.

He told them,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts. But it was not like that from the beginning.

You also do this: You cover the altar of the LORD with tears as you weep and groan, because he no longer pays any attention to the offering nor accepts it favorably from you.Yet you ask,“ Why?” The LORD is testifying against you on behalf of the wife you married when you were young, to whom you have become unfaithful even though she is your companion and wife by law.

The LORD said to his people:“ You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.” But they said,“ We will not follow it!”

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become a new family.

Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives because of the floodwaters.

So Jesus replied to him,“ Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.

He says,“ Do not be stubborn like they were at Meribah, like they were that day at Massah in the wilderness,

Indeed, they made their heart as hard as diamond, so that they could not obey the Torah and the other words the LORD who rules over all had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, the LORD who rules over all had poured out great wrath.

But Jesus said to them,“ He wrote this commandment for you because of your hard hearts.

Then the demons begged him,“ If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”

I say this as a concession, not as a command.
