“ Why then,” they asked him,“ did Moses command us to give divorce papers and to send her away?”

他们追问：“那么，为什么摩西说，只要给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？”

他们就问：“为什么摩西却吩咐‘人若给了休书，就可以休妻’呢？”

他们问耶稣：“那么，为什么摩西吩咐说，给一份休书，就可以休妻呢？”

法利賽人說：「這樣，摩西為甚麼吩咐給妻子休書，就可以休她呢？」

法利賽人說：「這樣，摩西為甚麼吩咐給妻子休書就可以休她呢？」

法利賽人說：「這樣，摩西為甚麼吩咐給妻子休書就可以休她呢？」

他們追問：「那麼，為什麼摩西說，只要給妻子休書，就可以休她呢？」

他們就問：“為甚麼摩西卻吩咐‘人若給了休書，就可以休妻’呢？”

法利賽人就對耶穌說：『那麼摩西為甚麼囑咐人給離婚書便可以離婚呢？』

他們問耶穌：「那麼，為什麼摩西吩咐說，給一份休書，就可以休妻呢？」

法利賽人曰：『然則摩西何為命與休書而出之乎？』

“ Why then,” they asked,“ did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

They asked,“ Then why did Moses command that a man can give his wife a letter of divorce and send her away?”

They said to him,“ Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?”

“ Then why did Moses say in the law that a man could give his wife a written notice of divorce and send her away?” they asked.

They* said to Him,“ Why, then, did Moses command to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

They said to Him,“ Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

They say unto him, Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorcement, and to put her away?

“ Why then,” they asked Him,“ did Moses command us to give divorce papers and to send her away?”

They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

They said to him,“ Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?”

They asked him,“ Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce, and divorce her?”

“ If a man marries a woman, but she becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, he may write her a divorce certificate, hand it to her, and send her away from his house.If after leaving his house she goes and becomes another man’s wife,and the second man hates her, writes her a divorce certificate, hands it to her, and sends her away from his house or if he dies,the first husband who sent her away may not marry her again after she has been defiled, because that would be detestable to the LORD. You must not bring guilt on the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.

“ It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a written notice of divorce.

I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.

So her husband, Joseph, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her publicly, decided to divorce her secretly.

“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

This is what the LORD says: Where is your mother’s divorce certificate that I used to send her away? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was sent away because of your transgressions.

They said,“ Moses permitted us to write divorce papers and send her away.”
