一个已婚的妇人，在丈夫活着的时候，她是受律法约束归属丈夫；丈夫若死了，她就脱离丈夫在律法上的约束。

所以神所配合的，人不可分开。”

人人都应该尊重婚姻，婚床也不要玷污，因为神一定审判淫乱的和奸淫的人。

丈夫也应当这样爱妻子，好像爱自己的身体一样。爱妻子的，就是爱自己了。

我要吩咐已婚的人（其实不是我，而是主吩咐的），妻子不可离开丈夫。如果离开了，就不可再嫁，不然，就要跟丈夫复合。丈夫也不可离弃妻子。我要对其余的人说（是我说的，不是主说的），倘若某弟兄有不信的妻子，而她也情愿和他住在一起，他就不要离弃她。如果妻子有不信的丈夫，而他也情愿和她住在一起，她也不要离弃丈夫。因为不信的丈夫因着妻子成为圣洁，不信的妻子也因着那个弟兄成为圣洁了。不然，你们的儿女就是不洁净的，但现在他们都是圣洁的了。

她离弃年轻时的配偶，忘记了神的约；

你们还问：“为什么呢？”因为耶和华在你和你年轻时所娶的妻子中间作证；她是你的伴侣，是你立约的妻子，你竟对她不忠！
