and said,‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

曰、緣此人必離父母、膠漆其妻、成為一體、此經爾未讀乎、

故曰、人離父母、膠漆其妻、成為一體、此經汝豈未讀乎、

且云人離父母、與妻聯合、二人成為一體、此豈爾未讀乎、

且謂「因此人將離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」

and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

He said,‘ That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. The two will become one.’( Genesis 2:24)

And he said,“‘ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’

Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written,“ The two will become one flesh.”

My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel,“ You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.

Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father’s house,

And Jesus said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.But from the beginning of creation,‘ God made them male and female.’‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

But you who held fast to the Lord your God are all alive today.

For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
