and he also said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

且謂「因此人將離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」

and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.

Don’t you know that anyone joined to a prostitute is one body with her? For Scripture says, The two will become one flesh.

I follow close to you; your right hand holds on to me.

from the nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites,“ You must not intermarry with them, and they must not intermarry with you, because they will turn your heart away to follow their gods.” To these women Solomon was deeply attached in love.

Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider: Forget your people and your father’s house,

But Jesus told them,“ He wrote this command for you because of the hardness of your hearts.But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female.For this reason a man will leave his father and motherand the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

But you who have remained faithful to the LORD your God are all alive today.

A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does.
