耶穌曰：『予實語爾、人為天主之國、而棄其第宅、父母、兄弟、妻子、而今世不獲倍蓰、來世不得永生者、未之有也。』

以予視之、一切莫非失也；惟認識吾主基督耶穌之為得耳。因此予已犧牲一切、而視之如糟粕、一心惟望贏得基督、

耶穌曰：『吾實語爾、人為予及福音之故、而舍其第宅、兄弟、姊妹、父母、妻子、或田疇者、未有不在今世、于殷憂多難之中、獲得其第宅、兄弟、姊妹、母子及田疇之百倍、而來世享受永生者也。

『人來從予、而不甘舍其父母妻子昆弟姊妹、乃至其生命者、不得為吾徒。

凡惜其生者、失之；惟為予而捨其生者、得之；

愛父母勝於愛我者、非吾徒也。愛子女勝於愛我者、非吾徒也。不負其十字架、而追踵於我者、非吾徒也。

爾等若果因基督之名而受唾罵、福莫大焉！蓋誠能如此、則光榮大能之聖神、天主之聖神、以爾為安宅矣。

惟先求天國及其正義、則其餘一切、必加爾身矣。

為吾名故、爾將見惡於眾、惟忍堅到底、舍生不渝者、必得濟焉。

爾若屬於世、世焉有不愛其同類者乎？正唯予已拔爾於世、此世之所以不能容爾也。

若為人子故、不容於世俗、既被人棄絕、更受人凌辱、乃至將爾名、視之如荼毒、爾乃真福人、即日當歡躍；

復有一徒請曰：『主、容我先往葬父。』耶穌曰：『第從我、任死者葬死人也。』

爾等為予之故、而被人詬詈迫辱、多方誣衊者、斯為真福、

至是王將謂右者曰：「爾等見寵於吾父者、自創世以來為爾所備之國、胥來承嗣。

吾且示之、彼為吾名、將如何備嘗艱苦。』

然經有之：『天主為孝愛者所豫備諸事、實有目所未睹、耳所未聞、人心之所意想不到者焉。』

有人來謁曰：『夫子吾當行何善、始可享永生？』

惟播於佳壤者、乃聞道而悟、誠篤結實、所獲或百倍、或六十倍、或三十倍。』

或落佳壤、則暢茂條達、有蕡其實、有百倍者、有六十倍者、有三十倍者。

是故自今而後、吾人不復以俗眼視人矣；雖亦曾以俗眼視基督、今則不復然矣。

遂群就天戮；而善者則享永生。』
