What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

And if those days had not been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

for“ Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

And someone said to Him,“ Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them,“ Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
