“ I’ve obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied.“ What else must I do?”

那年轻人对耶稣说：“这一切我都遵守了，我还缺少什么呢？”

那少年人說：「這一切我都遵守了，還缺少甚麼呢？」

那青年說：「這一切我都遵守了，還缺少甚麼呢？」

那青年說：「這一切我都遵守了，還缺少甚麼呢？」

那青年說：「這些我早已遵守了，還缺什麼呢？」

那青年對他說：“這一切我都遵守了，還缺少甚麼呢？”

那青年人對耶穌說：『這一切我都遵守了；還缺少甚麼呢？』

那年輕人對耶穌說：「這一切我都遵守了，我還缺少什麼呢？」

少者曰、凡此我嘗守之矣、尚有何缺乎、

少者曰、我自幼皆守之、猶有未盡乎、

少者曰、此誡、我自幼盡守之、尚有何缺乎、

少年曰：『凡此我皆自幼習行；敢問尚虧何事？』

“ All these I have kept,” the young man said.“ What do I still lack?”

“ I have obeyed all those commandments,” the young man said.“ What else do I need to do?”

The young man said to him,“ All these I have kept. What do I still lack?”

“ I have kept all these,” the young man told him.“ What do I still lack?”

The young man* said to Him,“ All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?”

The young man said to Him,“ All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet?

“ I have kept all these,” the young man told Him.“ What do I still lack?”

The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

The young man said to him,“ I have wholeheartedly obeyed all these laws. What do I still lack?”

The young man said to him,“ All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”

I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.

Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God.For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago.We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

The man replied,“ I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”When Jesus heard his answer, he said,“ There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

At one time I lived without understanding the law. But when I learned the command not to covet, for instance, the power of sin came to life,

The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer:‘ I thank you, God, that I am not like other people— cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector!I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith.

but he replied,‘ All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends.

They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said,“ All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

“ Teacher,” the man replied,“ I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him.“ There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him.“ Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
