Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord. (niv)

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (niv)

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law:“ The person who does these things will live by them.” (niv)

“ What is written in the Law?” he replied.“ How do you read it?”He answered,“‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and,‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’”“ You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied.“ Do this and you will live.” (niv)

Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because“ the righteous will live by faith.”The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says,“ The person who does these things will live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” (niv)

“‘ But the children rebelled against me: They did not follow my decrees, they were not careful to keep my laws, of which I said,“ The person who obeys them will live by them,” and they desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in the wilderness. (niv)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (niv)

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen. (niv)

They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. (niv)

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? (niv)

I gave them my decrees and made known to them my laws, by which the person who obeys them will live.Also I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy. (niv)
